ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is characterized by a constant and deliberate evolution, both in technique and concept, following the belief that art should be a living and changing process, a direct response to the transformations of the psyche and the environment.
My pieces, in essence, are visual explorations of the philosophical idea “Homo, nosce te ipsum”, which invites introspection as a path to truth, channeling complex concepts through the intentional use of media and techniques. Among that which permeate my work, the theme of migration stands as a turning point, as in 2017, the devastation of Huracain Maria forced me to emigrate to Houston, Texas, to work in the oil industry alongside my brothers by blood and colleagues from multiple nationalities; before returning to Puerto Rico in 2019.
Today, after more than two decades of constant search and transformation, my work reflects the depth of my experiences and the richness of my conceptual concerns. This new phase consolidates years of aesthetic and discursive experimentation, allowing me to approach my themes with a more impactful sensitivity and focus, connecting with both local and international audiences.
